Top 5 Essential Oils Used By Accent On Clean For Cleaning And Sanitizing
Let me share with you our all time favourite essential oils used for cleaning. They are powerful in many different ways, as insect repellants, diffusers to invigorate or soothe the mood of any room, as cleaners and sanitizers when mixed with other household products like salt, baking soda, vinegar, citrus juices and your dish soap.
Essential oils are useful disinfectants because of their antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties and safe for your home.
In keeping with eco friendly, pet and human friendly, always check with your health care provider to make sure there are no allergies to different oils.
Peppermint Oil - a delicious scent that can tend to be a bit overwhelming if used in large amounts so take it easy on the drops. It is known for repelling insects, especially spiders, and mice.
Tea Tree or Melaleuca Oil - a pungent, medicinal smell that needs to be tamed. It is known for ridding pets of ticks and fleas, it prevents mold and mildew, fungus, some viruses, and bacteria from lingering in your laundry and areas around your bathroom and even your exercise area and sports equipment.
Eucalyptus Oil - a strong grease and grime buster. It is often used with Tea Tree Oil in pest repellent pet shampoo, in small and safe dosages. In fact, it is a bug deterrent for the whole house. It's a great disinfectant for all household areas, including the sink drains and toilet.
Lemon Oil - one of my favourites because of the fresh lemony scent and all the antibacterial and antifungal properties for sanitizing work surfaces. A multitude of uses when you create your solutions, dish soap, body soap, diffuser, floor sanitizer, laundry detergent, furniture polish, window washer and all over house cleaner.
Lavender Oil - a relaxing, antibacterial cleaner can be made with this oil that is lovely for washing linens. It is a total home cleaner that blends beautifully with other essential oils for a fragrant and powerful sanitizer.
